Metacognition is recognized as a fundamental ability to promote deep learning, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Given the importance that these abilities have in design education, this project aims to study how these are developed and how metacognitive strategies can be taught in design educational settings.

Metacognition is recognized as a fundamental ability to promote deep learning, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Given the importance that these abilities have in design education, this project aims to study how these are developed and how metacognitive strategies can be taught in design educational settings. This project involves a theoretical component focused on identifying relevant literature on metacognition and design education and an empirical component focused on collecting data from design students and educators.
